Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. When she was a kid, she listened to a lot of classical music and older Boleros. She also listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana has a passion for Tangos, opera, and any form of dramatic performance. Her mother taught her to sing. However, she began more intensive training in vocals through Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. As a student and when she was a professional young within Mexico City and Guadalajara she was a member of several chamber ensembles and choruses. In 2000, she relocated into the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then, in 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with traditional Latin American music at private events. Her love and passion for art, music, and performing keep her engaged with many local organizations as a performer and teacher. Ana is also an ex-member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly for the young generation, for keeping this music alive.
