Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). The couple was moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and attended at the Dragon School. Emma aged six when she decided that she wanted to be an actor. The actress trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a partially-time theater school in Oxford where she was taught singing and acting. At the age of 10, she had appeared and played as the main character in several Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was found by agents through an Oxford teacher. After eight continuous auditions, producers David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film role was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It broke all records in first-day openings and weekday openings as well as being the most-grossing feature in 2001. Critics have praised both the film and performances by the three main young actors. The widely distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Most Outstanding Young Actress in a Feature Film. Emma was nominated for five awards for her performance in the film.
